About Dr Gupta

Sandeep Gupta is one of the foremost experts in nutritional medicine and raw and living foods nutrition in Australia.

Dr Gupta graduated from medical school at the University of Queensland 1999. Since then he served in a range of public and private hospitals in the South-East Queensland region, serving as a cardiology, medical and anaesthetic registrar. He also has approximately five years experience in working in Intensive Care, particularly in the area of post-cardiac surgery care.

Sandeep has been practising meditation and yoga since 1995, and lived in India for six months in 2004. He is fluent in Hindi and plays the tabla, harmonium, guitar, drums and harmonica. In his spare time he enjoys being in nature, playing music, swimming in clear mountain streams and travelling. He takes at least two to four weeks off every year for meditation to reconnect and recharge.

Since 2005 Dr Gupta has been working as a holistic GP in Brisbane. His interests include integrative depression and anxiety treatment, integrated treatment of diabetes and heart disease, adrenal and thyroid dysfunction, dysbiosis, yeast infection and food intolerance.  He also has experience in ayurvedic medicine, metabolic typing and functional diagnostic nutrition. He is currently conducting further research with Dr Gabriel Cousens into the influence of blood types on lectin reactions to common plant-based foods consumed in the raw food diet.
